🚗 Need a car for this road trip?

📍Falmouth
One of the most popular seaside towns in Cornwall
🗺️ Things To Do:
– Go to the beaches (Gylly, Swanpool beach, Maenporth beach…)
– Visit Pendennis Castle (English Heritage)
– Paddleboarding or kayaking
– Visit Falmouth Art Gallery
– Go for a walk on the South West Coast Path
– Visit the National Maritime Museum Cornwall
– Take the boat to St. Mawes
📍St. Mawes
A beautiful Cornish village with pastel-coloured houses and a historic castle.
🗺️ Things To Do:
– Visit St Mawes Castle (English Heritage)
– Visit Lamorran House Gardens
– Go to the beach (Summers Beach, Tavern Beach, Harbour Beach)
– Get an ice cream and people watch
⛴️ How To Get There: Get the ferry from Falmouth. The crossing only takes 20 minutes and the views are incredible.
📍Marazion
The getaway to St. Michael’s Mount and home to lovely cafés, pubs and shops.
🗺️ Things To Do:
– Visit St Michael’s Mount
– Get local ice cream from Ruby’s Ice Cream
– Go to Marazion Beach
– Visit Marazion Museum
📍St. Michael’s Mount
A historic castle and tidal island which was the English counterpart of the Mont-Saint-Michel in Normandy.
🚶How To Get There: When the tide is low, you can walk along the causeway from Marazion. During high tide, you can take the boat.
🎟️ Tickets: They are required to visit the island from April to September. Information and prices are available here.
📍Porthcurno Beach
One of Cornwall’s most beautiful beaches with turquoise water and granite cliffs.
🚗 How To Get There: If you are driving, there is a large carpark (pay and display) near the beach. The postcode is TR19 6JX.
🚶 Alternatively, you can also get there on foot via the South West Coast path
💡 Good to know: If you don’t want to go to the beach, don’t worry because you can see it very well from Minack Theatre.
📍Minack Theatre
A stunning outdoor theatre built on a granite cliff with stunning sea views.
🎟️ Tickets: This is a very popular attraction so make sure to book in advance if you are visiting in summer. You can book a visit of the theatre during the day, a guided tour or go see a show in the evening.
🅿️ Parking: There is a large carpark by the entrance of the theatre. It’s free for the duration of the visit or performance.
💡 My Top Tip: If the weather is not good, I would recommend checking the webcam on the official website to make sure the view is not obstructed. As long as it’s clear, it’s still well worth a visit.
❤️ This is one of my favourite places in Cornwall. I was so impressed by the theatre itself but also loved the views over Porthcurno beach.
📍St. Ives
Cornwall’s most famous town, known for its surfing spots and art scene.
🗺️ Things To Do:
– Visit Tate St. Ives (tickets available here)
– Go to Porthmeor Beach and Porthminster Beach
– Go to St Ives Harbour
– Go on a helicopter flight
– Shop in all the cute local shops
– Make your own gin at Tarquin’s Gin School & Shop
– Paddleboarding and surfing
🚆🅿️ Parking and train: I highly recommend parking at St Erth (which is a park and ride) and take the St Ives Bay Line train to St Ives. It’s only 10 minutes but it’s one of the most scenic train rides in the UK. Also, it will save you a lot of hassle in St Ives since it’s not really a town built for cars.
