π Need a car for this road trip?
If you donβt have your own car, Iβd really recommend renting one β it gives you the flexibility to stop at each waterfall and explore at your own pace.
I usually use DiscoverCars to compare prices and find the best deals across different rental companies.

- Compare multiple providers in one place

- Free cancellation on most options
- Their 3rd party insurance is a lot cheaper

Additional Information and Highlights
π Lavenham

π Warner Bros. Studio Tour

π Address: Studio Tour Dr, Leavesden, Watford WD25 7LR
π How to get there:
– Train from London to Watford and shuttle from Watford to the studios
– Booking a tour with transport included from central London
π‘ My Top Tip: I always recommend booking one of the first slots available because you can stay as long as you want in the studios. While most people stay around 4 hours, if you want to stay more you can, therefore booking one of the first slots give you the flexibility to stay as long as you truly want.
π New College, Oxford

πLacock

An idyllic National Trust village with Harry Potter filming locations.
πΊοΈ Things To Do:
– Visiting Lacock Abbey
– Discovering the Harry Potter filming locations (mainly in Lacock Abbey but there are also another couple in the village)
– Visiting Lacock country house (National Trust), once home to William Henry Fox Talbot
π Gloucester Cathedral

π Freshwater West Beach

π Malham Cove

π Address: Malham, Skipton BD23 4DJ
π₯Ύ Walks: (2 options)
– There and back Malham Cove trail – 3.4km – 1 hour
– Janet’s Foss, Gordale Scar & Malham Cove Circular – 12km – 3h50
π‘ My Top Tip: If you like hiking, I highly recommend the circular walk as it’s very scenic and you get to the cove from a different angle.
I’d also recommend getting there early as Malham is a small village and there is very limited free parking. At the weekends, several private carparks open but they are a bit pricey (around Β£8 for the day)
π Goathland

π Alnwick Castle

π Address: Alnwick NE66 1NQ (Northumberland)
One of the best castles to visit in England and a filming location for Harry Potter & the Philosopher’s Stone & Chamber of Secrets.
If you remember, there is a scene where the students take their first Quidditch / broomstick flying lesson with Professor McGonagall. The courtyard that was used was the one in Alnwick Castle.
π‘ My Top Tip: There are a lot of activities that are included in the entrance ticket and amongst them you’ll find a series and movies walking tour.
This is a great one because the guide will show you the exact location where Harry Potter was filmed.
I also loved doing the broomstick flying lesson. It was a lot of fun and gave us plenty of photo opportunities.
π Glenfinnan Viaduct

π Address: Glenfinnan PH37 4LT
Featured in several Harry Potter movies with the Hogwarts Express.
π‘ My Top Tip: Visit during April and October and time your visit so you can see the Jacobite train (which is the real life version of the Hogwarts Express) on the viaduct.
π Jacobite Steam Train

π Eilean na Moine
