This stretch is often considered the most scenic part of the North Coast 500, with dramatic landscapes, quiet beaches, and remote highland villages.

It was my favourite part of the NC500 (alongside the Ullapool to Durness Stretch).

📍 Mellon Udrigle Beach & Gruinard Bay – peaceful white-sand beaches with mountain views

📍 Gairloch – charming village with Big Sand and Red Point beaches + boat tours
📍 Victoria Falls – short walk to a cascading waterfall
📍 Beinn Eighe National Nature Reserve – great for mountain hikes and wildlife
📍 Shieldaig (make sure to get smoked salmon from Loch Torridon Smokehouse, it’s delicious!)
From Sheldaig, take the coastal route via Fearnmore for the best scenery
